Oh boy, it’s been about a week since I got the Heavys earbuds, and there’s a lot to talk about. So without any fluff or typical YouTube nonsense, let’s get straight into it.
Are these metal?
Short answer: yes.
Long answer: absolutely yes.
First, let’s talk about the price point. These earbuds come in at around €210, which is roughly the same in dollars. For everything you get in terms of features, that’s a very solid deal—especially for the audience these earbuds are clearly designed for.
So what features are we talking about? Codec-wise, they have everything you’d expect and want: SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX Adaptive, and aptX HD. Bluetooth 5.4, IPX5 water resistance, which means they’re sweat-resistant—perfect for movement, workouts, and even headbanging.
They fit really well and stay securely in place. They don’t fall out, even with movement, and the fit feels solid and comfortable. This is helped by the multiple ear tip options. You get standard plastic tips as well as memory foam tips, which I personally use. They’re more comfortable and help seal the ear better, improving isolation and noise blocking.
Of course, they also feature active noise cancelling, called Hell Blocker, just like the larger H1H headphones. It does a great job blocking out street noise, cars, low-end rumble, and a good amount of mid-range noise as well. I’ve used these on buses, subways, and while walking around the city, and the experience has been very good.
Control-wise, everything works smoothly. The touch controls are intuitive and responsive without being overly sensitive. Play, pause, switching modes—it all works as expected and feels natural to use.
Design-wise, I genuinely like these earbuds. They clearly share design DNA with the over-ear Heavys headphones. The sharp lines, the matte black finish, and the white Heavys logo give them a unique look that stands out compared to other earbuds in this category. I’ve worn them for several hours at a time without any discomfort.
The charging case also deserves a mention. It supports extended listening with multiple recharges and features interchangeable covers, allowing you to customize the case with different band designs. It might sound like a gimmick, but it’s actually really fun and creative, and it adds personality to the product.
Now let’s talk about what really makes these Heavys earbuds heavy—the sound. Heavys describes it as their immersive signature sound on the go, and after using them, that description makes sense. The sound is powerful, punchy, and loud, yet still clear and well-separated. You can hear individual instruments even in dense mixes.
I tested these across a wide range of music, especially modern metal and heavier genres, and they shine there. The bass hits hard, but it’s controlled, and the overall sound feels energetic and engaging. I also tested electronic music, and the experience was excellent—the low end is deep and satisfying.
The sound profile feels very closely tuned to what the over-ear Heavys headphones offer, just in a much smaller, portable form. That’s impressive.
So to answer the question again—are these metal?
Yes, they absolutely are.
For the price point, these earbuds deliver a powerful sound signature, strong feature set, great comfort, and a clear identity. They take what makes Heavys unique and package it into something compact and easy to carry around.
Thanks for watching. My name is Leech, and I’m off to work on the next scripts. I hope you enjoyed this, and I’ll see you in the next one. Have a great day. Goodbye."
