The most powerful and interesting part of HEAVYS is the patented 8-speaker design.

Most headphones use a single driver in each earcup to reproduce the entire frequency range, from bass to treble.

HEAVYS uses four drivers per ear: two 38mm woofers for bass and mids, and two dedicated tweeters for high frequencies.

But the interesting part isn't just having more drivers.

It's where the tweeters are positioned.

In most headphones, all frequencies are directed straight into your ear from the side. HEAVYS places its tweeters further forward, allowing high frequencies to interact with your outer ear (the pinna) before entering the ear canal.

This matters because that's how we naturally hear sound.

In the real world, sound reaches the pinna first. Your brain uses the shape of the pinna to help determine direction, depth and positioning. This is one reason live music and speakers often feel more spacious and immersive than traditional headphones.

By allowing high frequencies to interact with the outer ear before reaching the eardrum, HEAVYS aims to recreate a more natural sense of space and positioning.

The goal is a more immersive listening experience with better instrument separation, improved clarity and a wider sense of space.

This can be especially beneficial for dense, layered music like heavy metal, where multiple instruments are competing for attention at the same time.

HEAVYS was developed with legendary audio engineer Axel Grell, best known for designing the Sennheiser HD650.
