Okay, I just bought these headphones that are not designed for gaming. They were actually made for producers and audiophiles , rock and heavy music fans — but they’re the best gaming headphones I’ve ever had. Let’s talk about it.
I asked everyone I know who plays games — from casual players to hardcore players — what gaming headset I should use. I was referred to many brands: HyperX, SteelSeries, Logitech, Razer, Corsair. The options were endless. I tried most of them — A50s, Clouds, Nova Pros — I can’t even tell you how many pairs I went through. And honestly, they all had something I didn’t like.
A lot of them felt cheap, like they were made entirely of plastic. They flopped around and didn’t feel sturdy. And when I did find a pair that felt solid, they just didn’t sound good. Whether I spent $50 or $200, nothing felt like a quality investment.
In my opinion, gaming headset companies focus too much on RGB lights, flashy colors, and making headsets look like they’re for kids. I don’t care about that — I just want a high-quality headset. I got pretty frustrated because I couldn’t find one I really liked.
Then one day, I saw an ad on Facebook for a pair of headphones. They weren’t gaming headphones — they were made for music. They looked thick and sturdy, and the main selling point was sound quality. They were engineered specifically for heavy metal music, and that caught my attention immediately. I read tons of reviews — hundreds of people talking about how incredible they sounded — and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. So I decided to buy them.
The headphones I’m talking about are Heavys.
Now before you click away, let me explain. These aren’t designed for gaming, but Heavys sells a separate gaming cable with a built-in microphone. So I ordered that too. You can buy it separately or in a bundle, since the headphones weren’t originally made for gaming.
I’m going to be honest — I’ve never heard a better sounding headset in my life. I used to produce music and I’m very familiar with Sennheiser headphones. I’ve owned several pairs, and these blow them away. But it’s more than just sound. Heavys were designed by Axel Grell — the audio mastermind behind many legendary Sennheiser headphones. He has over 30 years in the industry and is often considered the godfather of German sound engineering. The build quality of these headphones is outstanding.
They’re thick and solid. Heavy — but not too heavy. Very sturdy, no flopping around. I’ve worn them for hours with zero ear fatigue, and they feel like they’ll last. And here’s the crazy part — each earcup has eight drivers. Eight drivers per side for incredibly immersive sound. There are even separate tweeters inside the earcups. I could talk about the sound quality for hours, but let me tell you how they perform for gaming.
You plug in the optional gaming cable with the mic — and you’re ready to go. I’ve been using these for months and I won’t switch to anything else. The microphone sounds great, and my teammates hear me perfectly. Games like Arc Raiders sound incredible — I can hear the smallest details with full surround immersion.
These headphones also have Bluetooth, so you can connect to your phone. They include noise cancellation — and it’s excellent. They also have customizable shells that pop off, and you can buy different designs, including band-themed shells, which is a cool touch.
These will be my go-to headphones for the foreseeable future.
Now, every product has a downside — and these do too. They’re not cheap. At the time of recording, they cost around $240, and the gaming cable is about $40 if purchased separately. There is a discounted bundle available, and they seem to go on sale fairly often.
I want to be clear — I am not sponsored by Heavys. I bought these with my own money. I’m making this video simply because I love them and wanted to share my experience. (Although, if Heavys wants to sponsor me, I wouldn’t complain.)
If you care more about sound quality than RGB lights and flashy looks, you should check these out. If you want a headset that feels solid and secure instead of loose and flimsy, check these out. And if you want great headphones for music too — definitely check them out.
I’ve put the company website link in the description below. If you’ve used these headphones, leave a comment and let me know what you think. Or if you prefer a different headset, share that too.
